Their first show this year was the UKC cluster in Farmington, UT. Michaela again did a wonderful job! She and Oreo won Best Junior In Show two more times! Even though he's getting rather creaky in the knees and his eyesight's failing, he'll do just about anything she asks of him. I love watching them work together! :D

Kai's UKC Group pictures!

I just got them in the mail today. I'm glad they turned out well! :D

Vampire Hondas?

Does anyone else think it's kinda funny that Vampire Weekend's "Holiday" (which features the band frolicking at the pool and on a beach) is the the jingle for the current Honda Civic ad (where everyone's dressed in snowy weather stuff)?

Kai is a star!

No! Rly! He graduated his AKC S.T.A.R. puppy class with flying colors last night! He got a nice big rosette and will soon receive a medal and certificate. I just love this little guy! He is so much fun to work with. He now knows sit, down, stand (which includes permitting someone to feel all over his body, including boy bits), teeth, wait, (jump)over, (go) under, through (the tunnel), touch, Where's Ducky (Jack, etc; a variant of touch), dance, Let's Go (heeling)...the list just keeps growing and he's only 4 months old! As soon as I can get a paycheck that actually cashes (stupid stupid work!!!) I'm going to go get all the PVC fittings needed to make him some miniature agility equipment. Probably jumps first (very short, since I don't want to stress his baby body), then we'll see what else I can contrive that'll fit in the narrow walkway in the basement. :D

Who is that puppy in the mirror?

Wouldn't you know it, the only pictures from the IG National Specialty that turned out were ones taken inside the hotel room? *sigh* Still, check these out, they're pretty darn cute! :)

Day One: Woah! Who's THAT?!

Day Two: Kai has now accepted the puppy in the mirror while at ground level, but he's just realized there's a puppy in the mirror while on the bed too!

It's getting close!

Down to the wire time here...I'll be leaving on Monday for my first Italian Greyhound National Specialty! Woot! I'll be showing my little Kai man in the puppy match; this will be his very first time in the ring. :) We've been practicing his show moves a ton, and he LOVES it! This morning he talked me into using his breakfast kibble to do some training. He poked his food, stacked and looked at me, then repeated it until I realized what he was asking for. lol His gaiting is still a bit off and on, but when he's "on" his movement is just gorgeous! Keep your fingers crossed that he'll kick those other puppies' butts! ;)

We interrupt this program...

...to bring you some shameless advertising!

I just created a Facebook page for my jewelry! Just look up "Sable Greyhound Gifts." Not all of my pieces are on there, but you can see most of them on my website www.sablegreyhound.com

We now return you to your regularly scheduled LJ.

Fun with an anagram generator!

Aine MacCullen = Unclean Menace
Holly Howarth Tippetts = Hell! Witty, Sharp Hotpot

So in the SCA I'm rather nasty (in both meanings of the word), but in real life I'm an intelligent hottie??? Hmmm...I'm not sure how I feel about that...

Puppy update: 9 weeks old

These little guys are CRAZY! lol Their antics are endlessly amusing. Here are some pics from earlier this evening:

Runnin' and playin'!

Happy, tired Kai

Finally chillin'

Because I am a true Quail Chickie...

...so I must follow my fellow Quail Chickies' lead:

A - ACCENT: None that I know of, though ironically I've been told I have an accent when I say the word "accent."

C - CHORE YOU HATE: Um, all of them? House: any kind of scrubbing. Dogs: clipping/filing nails.

D - DAD'S NAME: Lynn

E - ESSENTIAL MAKE-UP ITEM: I guess mascara? I rarely use lipstick 'cause I hates me my teeth.

F - FAVORITE PERFUME: Most perfumes give me a raging headache, so I usually make my own from essential oils. Main ingredients usually consist of Mysore sandalwood (oh, the buttery goodness!), frankincense, rosewater, a touch of amber. Secondary ingredients have included cinnamon, clove, bergamot, lime, patchouli, ylang ylang. Can you tell I'm not a flowery kinda girl?

G - GOLD OR SILVER: Silver for every day wear, gold for re-enactment/costuming.

I - INSOMNIA: Comes and goes.

J - JOB TITLE: Peon? I was Office Manager until the owner's daughter moved back here...

K - KIDS: Only the four-legged kind here! Italian Greyhounds Oreo, Issy, the co-owned Eowyn, and now my adorable babies, Kai and Tiny.

L - LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Living back in the ol' Homestead that I grew up in. Kinda strange to be "back home" again, but my whole family's glad I'm here to help me wonderful Daddy. :)

M - MUM'S BIRTHPLACE: Salt Lake City, UT

O - OVERNIGHT HOSPITAL STAYS: Once. I have dead guy in my neck because of it! Muahahahaha! >:D

P - PHOBIA: Lessee... Coulrophobia (damn clowns anyway!), a touch of claustrophobia, a dash of acrophobia, a smidge of agoraphobia (this one used to be bad, but not any more). Nothing overwhelming though, thank the gods!

Q - QUEST: Too deep for me right now, I'm just working on surviving!

S - SIBLINGS: My designation is Ten of Ten. I have 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

T - TIME YOU WAKE UP: heh Only when I'm forced to wake up? Usually it's 9AM, but lately it's been every 4 hours to feed the puppies. But I has a happy! The boys are eating "real food"! No more tube feeding! Woot!!!

U - UNNATURAL HAIR COLORS YOU'VE WORN: Purple, unnatural RED, auburn, brown, brown with red streaks, red with blonde streaks, red.

V - VEGETABLE YOU REFUSE TO EAT: Asparagus! (Sorry Noelle's Mom!) Also pickles, peppers (both kinds), grape leaves, brussel sprouts, cooked cabbage. Others I will only eat if prepared in certain ways: Onions & tomatoes. Yep, I'm pretty used to picking things out of my food!

W - WORST HABIT: Being horribly lazy! Am I fat? Why yes! Would I be more slender if I got off me arse and exercised? Why yes! *sigh*

X - X-RAYS YOU'VE HAD: Teeth, head, neck, back, knees, hips, wrists.

Y - YUMMY FOODS YOU MAKE: lol You funny! Holly cook??? Ok, I make a pretty good salmon steak, but that's about it.

Z - ZANY QUIRK: I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up that weird dog lady down the block when I'm old...
